The ESP SRC7 is about to get some Nailbombs!
For some reasons my bareknuckles got shipped to my parents house so when I go home tomorrow for mothers day (yes even tech metal dudes celebrate mothers day) Ill pick up the pickups and hopefully be able to install them this week. The wiring on my SRC 7 is kind of intimidating though (shrink wrap... really clean) so Ill have to take my time and re shrink wrap all the joints. Shouldn't be too hard though. Ill just have to think out whats getting stripped and how far and how all the wires will sit when all is said and done. Then - shred.
All your shred are belong to us.

Congrats! You should love the Nailbombs.

I hope so. It was a lot to spend on pickups but the guitar came [relatively] cheap so I dont mind. I cant stand the JB/Jazz in a neck through guitar though so Ill be glad to get something higher output and with a bit more punch and grind. The Duncans might fit nicely into a backup RG for this summer tour though...
... why cant I ever stop planning the next purchase ![]() |

I'll warn you, I'm not sure the Nailbomb will be that much hotter than the JB. The neck Nailbomb should eat the Jazz alive as far as output goes. But the bridge Nailbomb has similar output to the JB from what I've heard.

I think it was a little hotter according to the specs but Im really looking for a more lively pickup than the JB which always feels so flat to me. I dunno. Ill really just have to wire them up and see.

Are you going from EMG 7s to passive 7s?

Yeah this is the orignal model. If I got a newer Carpenter 7 I would put Q Tuner direct mounts in it. Ill probably take lots of photos but Im not sure if Ill do the whole stop and take photos of every step part.
So I picked up a tiny little box at home today and there were some very nicely made pickups inside. I was really impressed with the whole presentation really. There is a little handmade fiber box with labels all around. Then you open up to find a little stack of stuff. 1. Bareknuckle sticker... neat 2. Warranty and wiring diagram information with serial numbers and DC resistance measurements... also neat 3. Bareknuckle pick - celluloid - very flammable - fun! 4. Set of rotosound 10s - minus a low B but Ill be adding a high G anyway. 5. ...um... Nailbombs! So yeah. Finishing up exams this week but Ill probably wire the whole thing up next sunday and see how they sound. I cant wait! WTF - why didn't that count as a new post? It was 12 hours later!
