OMG, now this I'd buy a 7-string version of!

Clicky

that thing is seductively sexy, I'd be all over that if it was a 7 string (and I could afford it, lol). I'm not into trems but that thing looks good with a trem. But really this is a very classy, sleek sexy looking guitar to me!!

The parts look real cheap on it too. And that headstock...

I think its funny these companies spend more on very good looking photography than they probably did on the guitar.

I haven't gotten to the point yet where I can tell how good parts are by looking at them, lol, so thanks for the heads up, but regardless, I like what I saw, maybe it was the photography that was an illusion, maybe I'd be more interested in a poster of a 7 string version of that guitar in a similar setting,

It wasn't supposed to be a dig at you at all mate, I just find these sort of auctions funny yet irritating. Didn't want to see you stung by them.

how can you tell it's cheap? I wish I could tell just by looking, what are the signs?

I liked how it looked more than anything, I mean if it was well made with high quality parts then it'd be awesome, you guys are all into the aesthetics which is good if you're going to buy. But I guess no one thought it looked pretty visually? (not counting the headstock, that's not my type headstock either but it wasn't the ugliest I've seen either)

I can't really answer your question; its hard to describe, its just a gut feeling, like how the Floyd is boxy and ugly and sits squint on the body.

I got more of a clue from the information on the page; check the ships from address, the clumsy english (although these things seem to get much better), the made up customer service statements full of odd capitalisation and "A++++++ seller" statements (who says that? ) but the big turn off for me was the contact info at the bottom of the page - lynnservicenter|at|sbcglobal.net? (I removed the @ sign so no-one clicks on it by accident )Surely a reputable seller/company would have a real email address and not something that sounds like a subscription english-speaking general help desk.

OMG, lol, now I'm saying omg in a different way, lol... you see, I didn't even read any of the text on that page!, the only thing I saw was the list price at 1,299$ (?? that must be a lie?) Anyway, yeah I didn't read anything I was too busy drooling, lol. I have absolutely no experience with trems so I wouldn't know much about how it should sit on the body or whatever, it didn't look ugly to me, everything looked really classy. Ashame, because it was overall a very nice sexy body design and I liked the black gold scheme. Anyway, I guess this thread just made me realize how I know nothing about what quality looks like. I know you didn't mean to offend me, but now I feel dumb that's all, lol. But one thing I won't change is, I liked how it looked, regardless of anything else. Maybe I just have weird tastes, lol. But that guy selling that sounded weird indeed, if I had read that I might have been sucpicious too. But now I'm glad I posted this because now I know that guitar is probably crap despite the fact it looks nice to me lol. I'm learning, and feeling stupid at the same time, but I guess that's all part of learning. Anyway thanks.

The trem is a knock-off based on a Shaller Floyd from the looks. Shaller Floyds are good, but this is a copy of one, not the real thing. The other "cheap" factor is that I already see signs of gold tarnish on the tuners - not to mention the fact that they are shaller/gotoh knockoffs. If you cant spend an extra 30 bucks during the manufacture of a guitar for name brand tuners, you aint workin with much of a budget which is indicative of the overall contruction of the guitar.

Thanks that was very helpful. You see I didn't even know what kind of parts were on it, I just thought the guitar looked sexy. It amazes me how a guitar that looks so nice can be so poorly made. I think if I ever think about getting a guitar that isn't a well known name brand I'll post here to get the expert opinions. I have much to learn! Thanks for the advice!!
