open low b buzz, first fret buzz?

My low b when I hit it open buzzes some, more than the other 6 strings. Is it just because it has way less tension than the other strings? I'm running a 56 low b right now (with 10-46 on the other 6), if I bump the gauge up to like a 58 would that fix the buzzing open low b problem? Also, for some reason now all my strings are buzzing when I fret them on the first fret...is that a truss rod problem or a nut problem or an action problem or what? Could it be a loose fret?

Fuck it, you only live once!

It *could* be any of those - but it sounds like you don't quite have enough relief in the neck adjustment.

If your first fret is out of wack, you can easily check it by holding your guitar up and looking from the bridge down to the nut. If the firest fret is appears to be higher than all the others, that is your problem. Also, if while looking down the fret board, you see that the neck appears bowed one way or another, your truss rod needs to be adjusted.

loosen your truss rod, had the same problem last night on my UV (humidity and new strings can be a problem). Adjusted the neck...no buzz at all, but be careful, loosening too much can make your tone sound very muddy since it somewhat changes the way the string resonates across the board.
