Anybody actually played an LGM?

Right now I'm torn between a UV777BK and an LGM Leviiathan. Close to the same price but I do dig the looks of the LGM more than that of the Ibanez. I have enough guitars sitting around that play so...so..., I've never been able to afford a high end guitar but I'm saving right now. It may take me a year or so to set back that much cash but it'll be worth it and I don't want to buy the wrong thing. When I order the guitar I want to open up the box and feel the best action/fastest neck I've ever touched in my life. I've also considered getting one built by Warwick. Anyway, as I said the LGM wins as far as looks but I want to know how it plays and how consistently built they are. Some custom companys have a wide range of quality that comes out of their shop, I don't want to get one of the bad ones.

I've never dealt with him personally or played any of his work, but I recall a story a while back where he apparently multi-radiused a fretboard in the wrong direction for a guy waaay back in the day, and offered to fix it free of charge - you can interpret that one in a lot of ways, but what I've gathered is, if you have any problems with your guitar, he'll do everything he can to make things right.

Anyway, in the last few years his inlay work has gone from good but obviously done by hand to absoluely spectacular, if pictures can be trusted. I'd say the quality of worksmanship coming out of his shop these days should be quite good.

I've seen a lot of pics of various pieces in progress (one of the perks of being the designer for his Web site) and his quality looks to be outstanding. Jeremy's a perfectionist and won't let anything out the door that isn't absolutely right. He works really hard to nail his finishes exactly to his customers' expectations, and from what i've seen in photos, his finishes are top-notch.

He's even recently re-made all of his templates for routing trem cavities, pickups and neck pockets, to get his tolerances even tighter, and from reading reviews from people who already had LGM customs, his fit and finish were already very tight.

Yes, i've been waiting for parts, but we've recently changed the specs, so hopefully it'll be in production and done soon.

LGMs will take you forever to get at this point + the time to save the dough. Jeremy is so bogged down and it isn't getting any better. He does a lot more things than just guitars so he doesn't have just one priority. Great work, horrible timeframes. You would be very satified with a fully setup UV for sure. No buyer's remorse there.

Plus, thinking ahead, there is no track record for reselling LGMs as far as values go and they are a very niche market. Moreso than the UVs and those are well established. Just something to keep in mind in case you ever want to turn it around and not lose your shirt. Peace.

Thanks!

SHREDDER is on a distinguished road
There is some simply beautiful work on that web page....Very impressive.....If they play as good as they look, I may have to consider getting a 7 string in the near future....

Has anyone here ever played one?...If so, how do they rate?
