Espaul is a jewel in the rough
How are the necks compared to a Kirk hammet sig. (not the les paul-thingy)?
Maybe someone have tried both. Cause thats my current guitar (yes a 6-string :P)

Schecter necks are very comfortable.
The hellraisers are awesome 7 string guitars.
It's up to you to decide what you like as far as neck profile is concerned.
I used to have a Hellraiser 7 and I loved the neck on it,
and I'm a Jackson /Charvel/GMW guy so I don't go looking for "baseball bat" necks
I don't like Ibanez necks (too skinny for me) but that doesn't make them bad.
you've got to decide what's right for you.

Can I be the devil on your shoulder?

It looks like a really nice guitar, but I haven't tried it so I can't really say much more than that.

Thin necks allow me to get one or two frets more of a stretch. The rounder ones allow me to control the note better. A little extra pain, but doesn't bother me.

fireman2850 is on a distinguished road
I just got a Schecter Damien 7 last week to add to the collection. The neck is comparable to my s7320 except the s7320 has a "flat spot" in the center where the Schecter is rounded with no "flat spot". Seems to be a similar radius between the two with the Schecter being a little fatter but completely comfortable. The six strings I have played from Schecter do seem to have much rounder necks so a comparison between a Schecter 6 and a 7 string would be completely different. I have a Schecter 006 six string also and the necks are way different (thinner with a smaller radius and more of a "D" shape).

You've "seen" this, or heard talk of it?

Reason I ask is that while they were a little spotty 5-6 years ago, Schecter's quality control is amongst the best of their price group, from the guitars I've played on the floor of music shops in the last few years. Their fretwork in particular is stellar - alledgedly it's hand-finished in the states, and I don't know if that's true or not but it's certainly at least as good as that on a Japanese Ibanez.

Also worth noting is that 20 years ago, Japan had the reputation Korea had today. Twenty years ago, it was probably just as unwarranted.

I've never played a C7FR, but I used to own a C7 Hellraiser and still own a C7 Blackjack. The Hellraiser was a great guitar, but I just couldn't get on with the EMG's. The Blackjack is, as far as I'm concerned, the best seven string buy on the market today. I've played Gibsons whose fit and finish wasn't nearly as good as my Blackjack.

I tried the C7-fr last week. Didnt play it through an amp though. I must say it felt kinda like my hellraiser, which is ood because hellraisers feel amazing. I really liked it! Highly recommended, and if the pickups stink, get a pair of EMGs. That is the only good option though, passives would look weird, even with those bigass puprings.

It sounds like the Schecter has a quite batty neck, but I yet to hear someone speak ill about one, so it must be a good batty neck.

(ps. I sent you a PM Seedawakener )
