more aggressive 7 wanted!
i'm searchin for e 7 sounding more aggressive than my esp ltd m-307!it sounds very nice, but not biting enough for my taste (-->esp horizon for example);need more attack, too.
i thought of an universe or 7620/7621,first of all:do you think i will like the sound of them more? and second: qualitywise differences between 7620 and universe (i know, many discussions) (sound,playability....) |

Try changing out the pickups (do you have the original EMG HiZs In there? That's one major issue, right there, if so.)
EMG 81-7s should do you. If that doesn't do it, I don't know what to tell you. |

A more aggressive sound?
Just hit it harder! Playing with clenched teeth and/or grimace/frown helps too. Failing that try the "invisible chewing-gum" method, whilst holding the guitar like a machine-gun. ![]() |

i bought it used with blaze pus and changed the bridge to an seymour duncan jb (much better in this guitar and for my setup),but its still too dull in comparison with mei zerberus (german guitarbuilder) and my horizon nt-II,i like guitars with overtones!

Eh, that's wood quality, then. The LTDs are very spotty in that regard.
If you really want more aggressive, go for one of the mahogany Ibanez, like a K7, and put a JB in it. Basswood, to my ears, is way too mellow, especially for a 7. |

it's not only wood quality,it's the whole construction--->neckthru,mapleneck,mahagoni-sides....where should the attack come from

(secondary to the tone, thatis, certainly not to looks, quality, and/or playability. But those are seperate issues) |
