Refinishing my 1527
Well I got to thinking about how much I really just don't like the RB finish on my 1527 so I got to thinking
It would look badass to do a transparent candy apple red over a black burst. I really want to see some nice grain pattern though. Being as the 1527 is basswood wouldnt look like what I want to see. So was thinking of getting a replacement body. I was thinking a nice grainy piece of alder or maybe ash. I don't want a figured top, thats not the look I'm tryin to achieve. Opinions?

If it's a sticker then don't get it, but also sticking those things on is kinda hard imo...I'd rather get a solid finish or just build a new body, it'd be easier

An ash body would fucking rule with a trans finish, ash is such an amazing looking wood, just to convince you here are some pics:
