Uhhh, no not even close. Edwards are normal production guitars put out in Japan. J-Customs are hand finished uber high quality instruments, as close to a custom shop level instrument as a non-endorser can get from Ibanez. The only similarity between the two is that they're both sold in Japan.

::shrugs:: i know little about edwards.. but that looks like a slightly different F series than what id seen before. i knew edwards made some variations of that...

edwards makes some 3000 dollar guitars too..- similar to how there are japan only ibbys that arent too high quality..
i guess yeah they arent labeled 'j custom' but still similar concept

im getting a the JRG8327 this summer anyway so makes no difference to me-- except to better informed and for that i thank you
