Is everyone here using enormous strings?

It seems like everyone here is using something like an 11-70 set for B and A tunings. I like heavy strings a lot of the time but it seems like those would feel really stiff for quicker rhythm styles. So whats up. Are they really high tension or is it not as bad as I think?

I use something like 10-60 on my 7s.

Now I lay me down to sleep
Blah, blah, blah my soul to keep

It's not as bad as you think. I use a 10-68 set on my S7420BP and love it. I was using a 10-56 set but the B was just a little too floppy. I haven't changed the strings on my JP7 yet, but will probably go with something similar on that as well (or maybe a 10-60 set).

Guitarwizard is a jewel in the rough
it's not so high, acoustics normally have 12" on E

..but I use only a .52 for the low B and 009-0.42 for the others. i like the sound of a low B which isn't too thight.

If you change 4 letters in "Mama", it's "Beer"!

I use 60's for Bb/Drop Ab and it works fine. My friend uses 70's and him nor I have a problem playing quick rhythms on it.

I've got a set of DR High Beams 9-56 on my 7. (Carvin) (standard 440 tuning)
no problems at all.

Can I be the devil on your shoulder?
