48 and 64. I'm hoping it works out.

Same here, although I've been known to use a straight set of tens on top.

Nothing like a good depressant to chase the blues away!

I originally started using .012-.068 so that I could experiement with alot of different tunings.

Now I use them mostly because I really like their feel and the way they sound.

I was using a .65 bass string on my guitar for awhile. It worked great, it sounded good and was nice and tight. The ball stuck out on the back of the guitar but that was no big deal, and you have to peel the cloth-ish stuff off the top of the string. The string unwound at the bridge after only three or so weeks though.

Right now I use an elixir baritone string set with an added 9 on the top. 9-12-16-22-38w-52w-68w.
Elixir light-heavys on my 6 strings. 10-13-17-32w-42w-52w

I'm a member of the .008 club along with 7 Strings of Hate. For me, it's a .008-.038 set + .056 on the bottom. That would seem like a big gap between .038 and .056, but in practice it works really well. I use ultra light strings because I'm mostly a light touch/legato player for whom big strings don't work well, and also because I have to nowadays after I came down with carpal tunnel syndrome a few years ago. Since going to either .009's tuned down a whole step or .008's tuned either to standard or Eb, I haven't had a recurrence, and the articulation and phrasing in my playing have improved greatly. Your left-hand work has to be a lot more precise and controlled with .008's, but that's a good thing.

Skeletor will become famous soon enough
My strings are actually not very thick. I use 10, 11, 15, 22, 30, 42, 54. As a result I get a rather bright sound from low B.

I use 10-56, but I'm dying for a thicker B string. I regularly tune the B up to a C though, so there's some more tension by doing that (and it sounds cool too).

I`m using 10`s on my 7, but I can`t remember what the low B is. It`s a standard 7-string set from Ernie Balls. I think their low B is a 56 or 58 or 59. One of those. I know it`s not as big as a 60. I`m tuning 1/2 step flat and it feels great. That`s on the 25.5" neck of my RG. I think I may try a whole step dropped when I get my Hellraiser since it`s a 26.5" neck.

Eric

All hail the true metal God...Jesus! Where do you think metal came from?
