Lightbulb Ibanez in 2008 and on

Right lads,
by my calculations next year (2008) it will be Ibanez's 30th anniversary which probably means they've got something up their sleeves.

Also I just found out that they've discontinued YET ANOTHER 7. So now the RG15271 is added to the list of out-of-production Ibby 7's. But this may also mean that there could be another 7 or another series of 7's around the corner from Ibanez.

Is this wishful thinking? Or has anyone heard anything? Any predictions? Feel free to add anything on this...

Hold on to your hat friend, we're in April and you're starting a thread on what might happen at the next winter NAMM? It's all a bit too speculative to my eyes. Oh, and where did you get the info that Ibanez has discontinued the 1527? Are you sure about this - it sounds highly unlikely to me!

Cheers

Eske

Edit: re-read what you wrote... and you're right the RG15271 is off the Jap home page... but then again: the 15271 hasn't been available outside of Japan for quite a few years (since it was called the 7621, I believe), so it shouldn't really affect most of us.

He said the RG15271 - basically a 1527 with a fixed bridged, which used to be sold exclusively in Japan. It looks like it has indeed been discontinued. Browsing through the through the Ibanez catalogs from the last two decades, I couldn't help but think they're continually going downhill. RG2027, UVMC, K7, etc.

Don't tell me what I can't do.

It's actually their 100th anniversary, so yeah they should have something special planned.
