Washburn WG587

How good would you say this guitar is? Just overall wise.

Not bad, if $200 is all you have to spend. I'd reccomend saving up for an Ibanez RG-7321 instead. 7-strings, low price. Or, try looking for a rg7321 or even a rg-7621 on eBay.

http://www.music123.com/Ibanez-RG7321-i27059.music

You might find a used one of those 2 guitars for around $300. I just don't trust Washburn, unless it's made in USA and has the Buzz Feiten tuning system. Ibanez has been successful with 7-strings for over a decade, while Washburn is still trying to figure it out. I hope my ramblings help you.

I was gonna' get that but it was like $374 and I had just quit my job. So that was all I had. But at least I finally do have a 7-string.

Talking

Don't worry. It's probably just as good as a rg-7321. I'm a jackass sometimes. Change the p/u's and it should totally kick red baboon ass.

Which ones should I change it too. I want something that can get really heavy, but also has a good clean sound.

That one guy was me. Maybe I got a bad one, but the quality was not good at all. Frankly, the quality seemed consistent with the fact that it was made in China. I returned it, held out a little longer, and got a near-mint RG7420 for $180. The difference in quality between the two is like night and day.

If you're patient, I'd recommend waiting for a good deal on something used. Otherwise, just go for the Washburn! Everyone's tastes are different, and you may love it.

Dimarzios or Seymour Duncans. There's an official "pickup guide" here on this site:

Have fun! I just ordered myself an AN7 for the neck and a Blaze Custom for the bridge. I was looking for a sound different from the traditional Blaze/Blaze sound.
