The $160.00 7 string and question

So I was in a bad neiborhodd and founda music store that was a dump. But, they had a new Galveston stoptail 7 string for 160. Fresh out the box. Now I know all about Galvestion, I owned one once. They are Chinese and Korean made cheap Samicks. IMO they are better than low level squire and music-yo kramer stuff but still pretty low end.

It was shaped like a Ibanez saber, and was string through. 3 way switch, decent tuners , one peice maple ( fender strat-like headstock with two string trees)rosewood ( which was very nicely constructed) meduim frets( pretty much average to 500$ and lower guitars, no major issues). It wasn't made of plywood or chipboard, because it sang unplugged and had great sustain all the way up. Pickups were el' cheap o's, but were very resonant clean, and a touch muddy on the bridge on distortion, neck postiion was very usable and clear no matter what I did. They were meduim power.

What I didn't like was the finish had a piss poor clear or none at all. 0 nut will need to be replaced with something decent. There was no setup doen to it at all, intonation and neck truss rod. But he did pull it right out the factory shipping box.

I didn't buy it. But I can't but help think how great this would be for pissing around in. This would be the guitar to fall alseep on, practice on the toliet, or take to work and leave in my car for lunch time preacticeing. My beater 7 string....
Plus when my buddies come over they are like " oh wow a 7 string, I wanna try" and grab my precious 7620 with their greasy filth hands and mangle some stupid riff and say " you should drop tune this and run some 13's on it"....fuck that. I could hand them this pile and not care.
Is 160 too much for a beater? Can anyone think of a good reason not to go back and snap this up. It is what it is for 160......................but.................it's still.................a 7......
