8 months isn't actually that bad of a build time. A lot of places are even higher than that. Don't get the people who tried to get Leviathans from LGM started on long build times

Anyway think about it, if I order now, that means....I'll be MAYBE playin the beast in DECEMBER!

8 months is probably the best you're going to find. 6-8 months is the norm for a custom builder who isn't completely bogged down with orders.

On the bright side, a longer build time means you have longer to pay for it, so you can get even more goodies on your guitar

ESP is a good commercial builder. their site is www.espguitars.com. Warmoth guitar might be able to help you too. www.warmoth.com. Chris Woods is from what i hear a good luthier too. Oh yeah, the Chris Woods speed guitar looks awesome. Forgot all about that. That's a nice choice if you don't mind buying the hardware and getting it finished yourself.

If I lived in Italy, Manne would be my first choice. The guys in Zero Hour play them:

Jasun let me try his out, and I seriously did not want to hand it back. Our bassist felt the same way about Troy's bass. Amazing instruments. They also look a million times cooler in person.
