The red back of the neck is satin finish, not glossy paint. It won't feel like a painted neck. I'm with you on the EMGs, though.

The painted neck bothers me too, but for purely aesthetic reasons. EMGs aren't my thing, either. To be honest, once Kahler announced their trems for sevens I lost interest in this guitar, but those pics are hot. My local music store no longer deals Schecters though so shakrah knows when/if I'll get to check one out for myself.

I'm like DDDorian in that the look of it bothers me. I know I'm being a whiny bitch but I like a plain maple neck with a plain maple board.

skattabrain is just really niceskattabrain is just really nice
that finish and that maple fretboard are just such a tasteful combination. i mean, gorgeous!

they should make a hellraiser like this.

now it needs a fixed bridge and dimarzios and i'll have serious gas.

yeah, agreed ... you can tell it won't have that sticky paint feel just by those shots.

I know it's a minor point and purely cosmetic but i don't like the headstock face being maple coloured. It's just looks unbalanced to me.
I love Strats and Teles with plain maple headstock faces but not 7's.

Is there any problem with the neck. Someone told me that the truss rod only goes to the 15th fret, which may cause problems later. Don't take my word for it. He may have been trying to talk me out of buying one, because he wanted it. Please let me know if there is any truth to this.

Thanks, Brad

The red neck finish is what made me love it!

I've said before, but I feel obliged to say it again. I have one on lay-by, it will crush me with happiness.
