I suspect that the only thing they might have to measure is the headstock. Everything else they can derive from their existing CAD programs. And if they have a licensing deal with Fender, shouldn't they be able to get their hands on some master drawings and/or CAD data directly from the source, in order to ensure accuracy?

Warmoth is ridiculous when it comes to 7 stringers.
It's like people telling Chevy "we want a 350ci Corvette", to which they respond "well we made a 4 cylinder Vette and a 700ci 12 cylinder Vette and you guys didn't buy them, so we're not making the one that makes the most sense".
Whoever did their market study for their 7 strings should be fired, if they haven't already been fired. Warmoth completely missed the boat.

yeah, i did that, but even still. i have pretty draconian cookie settings on all my computers, so that might've been it.

exactly. all they need is the 7-string widths to add to existing fender-scale lengths. like you all are saying, why they didn't just do that from the beginning....

We haven't thought about 7 string expansion in a long time. Probably because no one ever brings it up. And I don't think it because they see what we offer and simply don't call, there just isn't hardly anyone playing them, or at least in the numbers we need to justify putting any time there.

It would be fun, but not profitable. Hey, maybe the 7 string market will get a second wind sometime and maybe we'll look that direction, but it doesn't look to be happening right now besides this one thread.

Maybe we should try USA Custon Guitars now? They have a message board.

Edit: Ah fuck it. I started a thread there. Bonus. If you registered at the Warmoth site for all the ezboard accounts you'll be registered over there.
