Washburn Sonic 7

Got my Washburn Sonic-7 today, just as my Jackson COW-7 went out the door to nyck.

First thoughts: Great shreddable neck, Duncan Invaders are way too hairy unless screwed down very low, and tight crunch for days. Kinda reminds me of what an EBMM Silhouette-7 might be like if such a thing existed. Easily holds to to EBMM levels of workmanship.

Here are a couple of crappy pics. Better ones coming soon.

As did I. I had one of those once, very nice. I love Invaders, great pickups if you're careful with your settings. Absolute crushing and sinister tone.

I think she's pretty nice, I just can't see how I could handle that fret access.

Congrats man

The fret access isn't as bad as you'd think looking at it from the front. It has very sculpted, low-profile neck heel, and you can reach the higher frets more easily than on most of the Schecter sevens.

The Invaders seem too harsh to work on the low B, but I'm going to play with the pickup height and amp settings some more, because they definitely have some nice crunch.

It shouldnt be harsh, what amp are you using? On my Rico Jr Custom, the Invader is extremely ballsy and growly, somewhat dark aggressive sound. Definitely not harsh. Pickup height could help, but its a very unique pickup, you may have to readjust your amp settings.
