Do you use both pickups on stage?

I am having a dilemia with what I should get from Chris woods, theres two guitars I am planning for, One has one humbucker, other has two.

Im curious, How many of you actually use both your Neck and Bridge pickups while playing live?

The pickup I was planning on using in the single hum would probably be either a D-Sonic 7 or maybe those Activators. I would most likely try the D-Sonic 7 first, since the rhythm and chunk you get out of it sounds so amazing, but for clean parts, I have no idea, although im assuming it wouldnt be TOO bad since I have my Pod, I can just temper with my presets to find something that sounds good enough for softer parts live.

Im thinking how Marty Friedman and Chuck Schuldiner, even Alexi Laiho all survive on stage with one humbucker, and Marty got some good tone for his softer songs with his bridge pup, so it would probably work..

Anyone just use the bridge live? Or do you switch back and forth between rhythm/leads/etc?

Should also mention, I would be still recording songs with a 2 hum guitar, gotta have my Duncan Jazz in all my recordings.. I actually might think about even getting a Carvin DC727 for recording, and having a one hum non-strat shape for live.. That might be cool.. I wouldnt build my 2nd guitar then.

i use strictly bridge, and just set my rig up around it. it helps if you suck 80% of your mids out of your clean tone

Looking for an Ibanez RG970XL

Yes, I do. For leads I switch between neck and bridge, and for cleans I use split coils, unless I want a dirtier clean tone. Heavy rhythm is strictly bridge.

Depends who I am playing with. Bridge for eveything. neck for clean intros or middle section where i have enough time to make sure i definitely switched properly. I quite like position 4 for clippier, funkier stuff when I am not playing spaz-metal

When I'm farting around at home (99% of my playing) I mess around with the switch all the time. Live playing Neck for clean and leads bridge for heavy rhthym and really distorted stuff. The Petrucci switching makes a lot of sense for live playing.
