7 String FRED???

Is there such a thing (I know not by name, but something similar in tone) to a FRED, like what comes in the JS series?

Ya see, the love at first sight has worn off of having a 7 string. You know how you see this hot chick, and you fall in love with her, even though her voice is annoying as hell? And then after awhile that voice gets to you, even though you still think she's hot?

Well, I want to get that voice fixed.

A 7-string Fred might be cool.

Does anyone know what pickups Satriani uses in his 7 strings? The PAF7 seems kind of weak for his tastes, so I assumed he uses Blazes, but maybe Dimarzio custom-made a new pickup for him?

I have:

RG1527, stock pups (this is the patient in need of a transplant)
JS2000 w/ PAF Pro -- N and FRED --B
RG421 w/ Air Norton -- N and Tone Zone -- B
SC420 w/ Misc. Duncans

I LOVE the JS2000's tone, both neck and bridge. That's why I want a 7 string equivalent for the FRED. They already make a PAF 7, so that shouldn't be difficult.

Yup, my wife bought it for me in 2002.

It's my main 6 string.

Yeah I was a bit shocked when I received it, for sure.

I looked on Dimarzio's site, and it appears the Fred is really just a PAF Pro with accented mid's.

Maybe I'll e-mail them to see what Joe uses in his 7's.
