HEY YALL, FRIEND RECOMMENDED ME HERE. IM STILL FINDING MY TONE, BUT UH, IVE BEEN SATISFIED RECENTLY WITH MY JACKSON DKMGT(YES I KNOW THIS IS THE SEVEN FORUM), I SEEM TO GREAT MY TONE FROM AN ALDER BODY AND AN EMG-81. I LOVE THAT SOUND THE BEST SO HERE'S MY QUESTION IM POSING.

HOW WELL DOES AN ALDER 7 BODY WITH AND 81-7 SOUND? DOES ANYONE HAVE THIS SETUP ON THEIRS? ME, I HAVE TWO RG7321s, AND IM JUST CURIOUS WHETHER OR NOT IF I LOVE THAT TONE FOR MY SIXES, HOW WELL WILL IT SOUND FOR SEVENS.

hey bro TAKE THE CAPS LOCK OFF lol. It gives off the impression that your shouting at us.

My stef B7 is alder with emg 81-7's in it. It is really loud with mega distortion if that is what you are looking for. Definately not dark sounding like my Mahogany K7 but bright and crisp. I hope this helps. Put it this way....the distortion is very "in your face".

yeah i am, and i like to type in caps so i dont have to capitalize....i sort of compare my taste of distortion with Chimaira's Rob Arnold. I love the sound of a Peavey 6505+ with the EQ at B-1, M-10, T-9, Presence-9, Resonance-3. Full gain too, lol. Thanks for th ehelp though. Maybe this description will better help yall know what kind of sound i like...

EMG 81 is your ticket if you want to nail Chimaira's tone, they both use them and only have bridge pickups.

yeah i know, they are the ones who got me back into the 81, so i wanted to try and get a very similar tone for my seven.

Have you tried stringing your 6 with the lowest 6 strings of your desired 7 tuning? (BEADGB?)
That ought to give you a pretty good idea of what you'll get.
