Who was looking? Here's one:

Kinda pricey though, ain't it?

I just pulled the trigger on this one. Yeah, it's a little more than I would usually pay for a Taiwan-made axe. But they seem to be pretty rare, and I don't believe you can get the 7-string Sustainer pickup separately anymore from Fernandes. And even if I could, I don't currently have a 7-string with a neck-humbucker slot for it--so it was just easier to get the guitar to go with the pickup...

Plus, these got pretty good reviews on H-C, so I don't think I'm getting some lowball POS.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

God, why, I have been hunting for so long...

Trust your ears.

In life and music, what is is but that doesn't always mean it's what it should. Change, is in our hands.

Sorry, man...

This seller wasn't willing to ship outside the USA, anyway, so you might not have been able to grab it. Tell you what, if it isn't what I'm looking for (and I tend to go through a lot of guitars), I WILL sell it to you for what I paid and ship it internationally, unlike this eBay seller.

That's pretty cool. Are those sustainer units still available for purchase? I would love to have one in my 1527.

No, they aren't. If they were, I probably would have put one in my old 7620. I believe they were only available for a short time during the height of the '7-string craze' about five years ago. Of course, some of us are still crazy about 7-strings, but I guess not enough of us for Fernandes to care. Now, you pretty much have to locate a Fernandes 7-string guitar with the sustainer installed, which is why I jumped on this one quickly--they almost never come up on eBay.

Well, I got it yesterday. The sustainer is pretty damned cool! Overall, the guitar isn't too bad, but mine's a little bit beat-up. I need to replace the middle clamp for the locking nut, which is cracked in half, and also several of the saddle blocks, which were inexplicably missing. The previous owner had secured those strings to the bridge by sort of lashing them to it with the tightening screws--weird! If I decide to keep this guitar, I'll probably put a better bridge pickup in it, also.

The neck has a nice feel--it's thicker than an Ibanez, but thinner than a Schecter. Nice flat fretboard makes shredding pretty easy. I would rate the overall quality somewhere between the Japanese and Korean made Ibanezes.
