A G*y question: Black or Cosmo Black?

Hi,

well i am about to order a lo pro trem for my future seven wich will be all in satin black finish / ebony fretboard without inlays: a very very straigth and plain look. I cant figure the diferences about black vs. Cosmo black finishes due i havent seen neither already in real world.

I need your advise / taste / feeling about that, please... Which Would you like more on a satin black finish guitar: black or cosmo black hardware? If you can also post some pics of your guitar to see more clear the difference, i would be very grateful.

Black is just plain gloss black - cosmo black is more of a black chrome.

Anywho, cosmo black is more like metallic black than plain black. Looks a tad more interesting, IMO.

I've actually heard about certain oxygen issues that the cosmo black has, where it tends to oxidize and become dull and splotchy over time.

Just a heads up.

It wears off like cheap gold plating, my friend's old RG460 barely has any plating left on the trem at all.

Did happen to me.. before I stopped resting my hand on the trem.. (oh the mistakes I've made) and cleanign it regulary. I suppose my sweat (or karma) just melted it off without some care.

So, this in mind and back to the original topic, go with the Gloss Black hardware.

This site right here says that the K7's are totally cosmo black (or "powder cosmo"), which basically means that it'll be brushed chrome within a year from what I understand.

I have a six string with cosmo black hardware and it's gotten really splotchy in places, but I like my guitars to have a little "character". I feel like I have to go easy on really new and/or nice looking guitars and that's totally not my style.

I'd say that is powder cosmo.. where as cosmo black would have a more even surface, and black would look.. black. black like the bars in the pics.
