Yet another mod for the 7421

Found a Neutrix output jack in my drawer at work,,,,so I figured why not? That's the beauty of having an old RG,,, it's not a big deal taking it into the room with the belt sander....lol. I'm probably going to take it off and sand the edge better ( smoother ) and treat the open wood with lin seed instead of a lacquer pen.

Cool, Allen. I was wondering about these jacks, I've heard such good things about these lockers. What was the hole size in the body?

Please be kind to snakes. They can't help it.

It's was about 7/8" I just bored it to 1" for some wiggle room.

Nice mod! looks better than the nub that Conklin makes for their output jacks (even though it's just a small bad thing about their guitars IMO)

I just used an orbital sander 800 grit then 1,000 then 1200, and went to the buffing wheel. Most guitars have a sealer coat, then maybe a primer coat, then the paint and poly. I just focused on the edges and contours. My original intention was to repair the body dings and paint it. As I sanded it started to look cool just the way it was.

This is an insane coincidence!!!!
I was looking at these Neutrik jack-sockets only last night (on their website)with the thought of fitting one to an RG7.
I like them a lot!!!
They also make them with a black colored metal surround too.
