UV7BK '90-94,96 VS '97/Converting to AANJ

Two quick questions... so ive started hunting around for a UV7BK... and the green dot is cool... but not really my thing...
so i was wondering if there was a difference in neck dimensions between the model with green trim and all black...

also... is it possible to convert this standard neck joint to an AANJ/would it affect stability or possibly damage the guitar (of course this would be done at a luthier)

It sure can be done. Here are some pics of an older RG570 that I modded and wish I had never sold. I beveled the horns, and did the heel like a combo of AANJ with the older Jem/Jackson style contours.

Ha! I have the exact same axe - a '90 RG570PN - Purple Neon, with matching headstock, made only that year I believe, and a fairly sought-after, rarish finish. Even my wife teases me about that flip paint.....I digress, sorry...

I think you could do exactly the same thing to an old UV7BK, same block neck joint. Those green dot UV's have the most killer necks of all the UV's I think. I'm also doing a major makeover of my old green dot, great guitars.

Purple Neon is an awesome color. My 540SLTD is the same color.

ive heard far and wide that they are great guitars, and thanks for the advice--- the block joint is the one thing keeping me from that guitar

however does anyone know if there is any difference between the all black and the green dot necks?

The only difference as far as I'm aware is the green>white trimming color difference, otherwise the neck shape should be the same - Wizard thin and very fast. The heel block really doesn't impede that much really. For a neck that nice feeling, I'd live with a hunk of cauliflower for a neck heel!
