Differences in apex 1 & 2 to justify price difference of $1049
Other than the obvious tremolo, inlay, and paint job the specs are exactly the same (woods, pickups, etc) in both the new munky apex models. Why is the apex 2 only $699 when the apex 1 is $1749? That is an increase of $1049 just for a tremolo, paint job ,and inlay!?! Anyone know what the other differences are?Possibly they are both being built in seperate countries?Let me know...

The Apex 1 is his "real" sig model...the Apex 2 is the more affordable one...probably because everyone was bitching about the K7 being so expensive. It's like wanting a real rolex but getting a fake look-alike because it's cheaper.
Honestly I think the 2 is the better out of the two....it's a hardtail and doesn't have gay stars all over it. The finish on the 1 is pretty sweet though, but not worth the extra cash. |

The apex 2 is probably manufactured in China as apposed to Indonesia.

if you know how expensive inlaying costs, even with a CNC machine.. then add in trems (7 string edges are soo unreasonable in cost) and that finish.. I think it makes sense.. Also japan vs indonesia

and that texture finish on the Japanese one cost more than the finish on the green one.
(and it looks very cool for my eyes, but I'm not sure it would look better onstage.) |

I think the biggest factor is the cost of skilled labour in Japan vs. Indonesia.
