Talking My !st Picstroy Setup TONS of pix (56k=no way)

well its that bimonthly setup restringing cleany guitar time people so i thought id do a picstory for all my friends here at SS.org

First Some Music

The Tools

The Subject

Used A Rubber as a trem block because i couldnt find that rubber coaster i usually use

Put the old strings in order on the floor should a new string break

Thats a dirty fretboard

The rubber gayed out and broke on me !!!

And Sink Goes The Trem so i untensed the springs

tape up that board ....yes i do overkill on this part

nobody likes steel wool on their pickups
last few frets ae done individually because the tape is too thick

Grab That 0000 grade steel wool and get rubbin

frets 1-4 steel wooled

man this is soo tiring time for a break

quick look on ss.org

breaks over bk to work

but first a change of music \m/!!

Frets all shinyed up

Get lem-oiling that board

thats purdy

headstocks lookin dirty as hell

well soon remedy that

the finished product

polish that body

new string time

stretch em out and set er up
Ready for some shredding!!!

i hate doing setups but the finished guitar is always worth it

Shredding Isn't Music..........Its Awesome!!!

1.) www.juststrings.com - seriously, you owe it to yourself to run an Elixir .56 with those Elixirs.

2.) that's actually not QUITE perfect trem angle - the knife edge, not the top of the trem, should be parallel with the top of the guitar body. Dig around www.ibanezrules.com a bit for the tech section.

3.) purdy.

Dude, that setup looks great except for the trem angle, and those EMG's sure do look tight in there

Good work

Nice job, that fretboard looks sexy. I did that recently to all my guitars too, Rich sent me loads and loads of D'Addario strings and I used some of Eric's Guitars Uber-Magical guitar polish and fretboard oil, the stuff works awesome.

Nice guitar too. I love those 1527s and I like how you put EMGs in it too. Cool picstory.

Looks nice! How do you like EMG 707's? I just won an Ebay auction for an S7420 with an EMG 707 in the bridge.
