it clogs up the forums with old crap. if you find something really relevant to say, and the forum is better off with the bump cause we learn something or something useful is said, then yeah, by all means. but to ask some dude for pics of a guitar on the bay that he casually mentioned a year ago? that just brings up a thread and muddies things up.

In this case, no. It doesn't add anything to the thread.

If it was a "hey, I saw your RG1527 restring and was wondering what "x" was used for?" then that'd be better - but even then you'd be better starting a new thread since its such a simple procedure that happens often to everyone.

The only time threads really get bumped are if they are about a particular guitar...

I foresee S7 threads getting bumped soon.

if its really old, dont bump it. a year plus? no way.
if its a few weeks yeah, if you have something useful to say. if youre just going to say cool or something, just thank the thread or rep whoever, but dont bring the whole thread back up just to say something of no real value

Come on guys he is new give him a break. Don't worry you'll get the hang of it. There isn't a rule that says you cant bump old threads BUT the reason you bumped this one wasn't a vey good one.

I gave you some pos rep too cause the 2 negs you got were pretty harsh.

yeah i gave him a random thank to try and clean that up a bit too, after the first one. i just tried to tell him why not to, etc. Stitchy here, (and someone else, dunno who) went to town on his ass though eh?
