Awesome. I still like the TRS in my S 7420, although I prefer the Lo Pro which all my other 7s are equipped with, the Trs isn't all that bad. Can't wait to see some pics.

Buz said he did one himself and had Ibanez do one. Mine actually was very close to fitting and didn't require any routing of the finished area which may effect the top, it just touched under the bridge somewhere and I had the locking studs put in.

Thanks for moving this thread, I thought I did post it in seven string guitars..

I'll get the pics on today if I can, I just found my batter charger for my camera....Chris

Did the new studs require drilling?

I added a pic to my first post.
I'm not sure if it needed to be drilled larger for the studs. The anchors do look a touch bigger than the old ones so I think so. I usually don't have mods like this done but, this one is my favorite 7 string. I like the flame top and the H-H pickups with a mohogany saber body.

Oic. Hmm, I'm going to have to talk to my brother about this.

I have an S470FM... if only I had a 7 string version, ha.

GREAT mod... that make a PU change an absolute necesity! With the right pickups, that'll be just about the ultimate S-7! May I remind you of DiMarzio's PAF7 - I'm sure they'd rule in that beast.

Cheers

Yes I have the PAF7's in my K7 and love the sound.
I have a couple jems and like the sound of the 7dbk the best with the breed pickups so I called Dimarzio and they suggested the Tone Zone 7 and everyone here seems to love the Air Norton 7 so that's what I bought. I still have to put them in.... Thanks...Chris

Do you know what kind of routing it would take to retrofit a OFR7 into an S7?

My understanding is none, it's supposed to be a direct replacement for the LoTRS7.
