Chill bro. You might not mean to be, but you're coming off like an asshole. Folks are just asking some simple questions, or trying to offer advice. If you don't like a post, just ignore it. This internet tough guy "how old are you" stuff is not wanted on this forum.

I'm not seeing anyone ask questions (about the guitar anyway). All I'm seeing is people 'offering' advice that wasn't wanted or asked for or even relevant, which is rather offensive to me. I seriously don't understand how people make comments before reading all the posts. They just instantly chime in with their opinion whether or not it's already been addressed. It absolutely reeks of narcissism...but then, I suppose every NGD does to some extent. It's not as easy for me to ignore it as I'm sure it is for others, but I'll definitely be doing that going forward.
And me asking how old someone is, isn't being an 'e-toughguy'; It's me making sure I'm not arguing with a 15 year old, because then I'd feel really stupid.

Just ordered a NEW RG1527MGW, I'll probably just try it out and return it for a refund coz I'm moving, but once it gets here I'll be sure to post an NGD and shots up close of the guitar, hard case, everything. I guess I don't need to say where I ordered it from, since my knowledge of how to use the internet is definitely too minimal for that, anyone could figure it out right?

Well, I mean you didn't really write anything worthwhile, did you? You've started a thread with a reasonably big claim - an "unbiased review", but it is neither unbiased, nor a review. You just say that X is meh, Y is meh, Z is meh and you don't even like trems to begin with. Seems to me, the general quality of the responses you've got was on par with the general quality of your first post in this thread.

Actually, I have some questions about specific aspects of the guitar if you don't mind.

I'm actually considering one of the RG921s and specifically I'm curious about the fretwork. I've had a couple of Prestige's and the fretwork was certainly decent, but didn't feature the rolled fret edges I've come to appreciate on Fender strats; its one of the aspects I was interested in on the Premiums. Specifically, what about the fretwork was off? Its really the main reason I'm interested in the Premiums at all and if you could expound on what you did / didn't like about the frets I would appreciate it.

Currently in progress of replacing every guitar I have...piece by piece

You need to chill out, you really made it seem like you were not happy with your guitar at all, and you stated no good things about it what so ever. How are we other human beings that occationally do not live inside your head supposed to understand wether or not you're happy with it?
SS.org is not a place for arguments, but for help from others and discussion. Discussing with someone younger than you doesn't determine wether or not this person know or understand a whole lot about guitars or not.

The reason why you get so many recommendations and stuff like that is because you stated that getting an 1527 would be impossible, but you didn't state ANY reason for this, except what some instrument shops didn't sell it anymore. You can buy it used, It's really not THAT dangerous to touch a guitar that someone else bought and used before you. Also, you said you're going to sell this as soon as you can. What else would you expect than recommendations? You didn't say that you knew what guitar you were going to get. JUST SAY IT, instead of starting arguments, or making situations worse. With your feedback on the guitar, I don't even understand why the hell you even put this NGD up here.
Just cool down dude. You seem like a very douchy guy right now, I'm sorry to say.

Also, there is a Review section of SS.org. This is not it.

On a lighter note, beautiful guitar!!!!

You said you might be selling it after tour?

Don't beat her up too hard then. Depending on my financial situation, I may end up buying it off of you.

I read the entire thread up until when I posted, I understood everything clearly. You simply weren't anywhere NEAR being clear about anything in yours. Let me point out something that made me conclude my point of why not order something you actually would enjoy.

I don't understand your point, if it's a practice guitar. Why on earth do you need THIS one, and on top of that NOW? You might as well get whatever JP Model you said you want when you get back instead, like I said, instead of settling for something you're not satisfied with. If anything, just buy a beater hardtail 7 that's easy to play and practice on that until you get back and sell it. There's an idea, so you don't actually have to bring something like a JP on the road.

And on the subject of my age, I'm not giving you the satisfaction of telling you it. If you really want to find out how old I am, go click on my profile and find out, even if I was a 15 year old I can certainly say that I'm not being a complete asshole and treating anyone making a suggestion like they're the plague and that you're utterly offended by someone lending a hand in goodwill.

And that's what I don't understand, I'm not going to assume you live near a bunch of guitar stores so you can try whatever fits your needs. But you expected a sub par experience out of 1100 guitar? Why not buy something cheaper that would fit those standards? Like oh say, one of these?

Ibanez Munky Apex2 Signature 7-String Electric Guitar Rosewood FB Green Shadow | eBay

It also clearly states that it comes with a padded gig bag just about anywhere you buy it from, and it's not even a bad case in all honesty.

And I personally couldn't care less if someone likes, or dislikes the instrument they spent their own money on. If you don't enjoy something you bought, who is that affecting? Certainly not me, I have much more important things to worry about. Lastly, there's still 1527M's out there for sale even brand new, you didn't look hard enough.

OP's probably gotten nauseated at this point bro, you gonna get flamed now!
Don't worry, I've ordered a *New* RG1527M and I will definitely post an NGD and make sure OP sees it. Do I know how to use the internet? Apparently not more than OP. Did it cost me money? For the return shipping, yeah, probably a few bucks, aside from my payment being stuck with the store till I return the guitar. Will it give me complete satisfaction of making someone feel utterly stupid? Abso-effing-lutely!!

I don't.

I have not changed PU's on a single Ibanez (nor any other guitar) I own. Except for one that was defective on my RG550, but guess what....I got the same Ibanez V7 (or whatever it's called) to replace it with.

Somehow I never felt the need to replace the PU's, they always sounded good to me.

sorry for being off-topic....

Yeah it truly depends on the sound a person's going for. I've met people who totally dig the V pickups and it doesn't surprise me, it's a unique pickup that works haha. I wouldn't even attribute it to laziness because some people enjoy those sounds over others.

I will be selling it afterwards for sure. It won't get beat up. I'm taking it in one of my Ibanez hardshell cases from another guitar.

Yes, I know you don't understand. Your comprehension is lacking, immensely. I chose "THIS" guitar because it was the best thing I could get, to do what I need, at the price I could afford, knowing that I would sell it shortly after, and not have to take a $800 loss for something that I had for two months like I would have to if it were around $3k.
Why not get the JP Model? Well I've already answered this question TWICE, but since it takes about eight times to sink in, I will repeat myself...again. Did you read the part about "...could afford"? Do you understand what that entails? Did you read the part about "van getting broken into last tour?" Do you understand why maybe someone wouldn't want to take a brand new $2500 guitar on tour after experiencing that so recently? Oh and let's not forget the most important fact: The JP12 isn't even available yet. Stores won't have it in stock for another couple weeks.
So again, to really drive it home, the point is: I needed a moderately cheap, BUT PLAYABLE, seven string for practicing/writing this tour. This is all for the band and everything else mentioned in the OP. Seriously, WHY do you care so much? If you didn't care, you wouldn't respond at all.

Quote:

Yet you assume I somehow had the chance to play it before I bought it? That doesn't make any sense. You're saying I EXPECTED a sub-par experience. I didn't expect anything other than what I read from the other reviews on this site that said something to the effect of "it's close to Prestige Models". It's not. This is seriously some of the dumbest shit I've ever had to respond to in my life. You seem genuinely upset that I'm not completely stoked with this guitar. WHY DO YOU CARE. Really. Why? I didn't expect it to be ANYTHING, let alone anything great. For the Xth time, I knew what I was getting and I'll I'm doing is telling others my opinion of the guitar- it's not comparable to Prestige models. Yet all you want to do is talk about why I should get another guitar, what I could've done, coulda woulda shoulda, and how I could've gotten a 15727 (which, I TRIED, and it's not possible. Anyone saying otherwise is only doing so to stir the pot.)

Quote:

lol, not a bad case? How the hell would you know? Do you have one? Have you ever been on tour or even in a band? You think a padded bag is good for anything other than driving over to your friends house? Even the other reviewers said it would not hold up on the road. It certainly doesn't take someone with logical reasoning skills to......oh, right.

Quote:

Out of all the higher-end guitars I've had, they were the worst fret-ends, no contest. The premiums aren't bad. About what I expected.
