its an abm fixed bridge, the luthier had trouble getting hold of a hipshot and i heard good things about the abm so i choose it, its an amazing bridge, yeah its more expensive than the hipshot but it does everything i need it to do very well

cheers man! i looked at different customs other people had, looked through peripherys guitars etc and choose the different woods i liked and went from their, im loving the mahogany on the back, just looks so elegant and classy

its a completely different guitar really, the atx has higher output pickups so its ideally suited for the heavier side of things, i found the neck pickup on the atx very bland for solos though, where as the siggery can pretty much to anything, the cleans on the atx were good but sounded quite sterile, where as the siggery just sings, the pickups are also extremely articulate even with lots of gain

well i wanted the pickup selector close to my strumming hand for easier pickup switching, also a killswitch for in between songs etc,

I think that if you want a Blackmachine or a Bernie Rico, you will buy a BM or a BRJr, I can't see where is the problem. And Siggerys are full custom, he's not selling any BM or BRJr copy.

i understand your dilemma, but the way i look at it is, i can tell its not a bernie rico, he's not trying to pass it off as a bernie rico, the only thing which is similar to a bernie rico is the headstock, and thats because i really like bernie rico headstocks (which are similar to caparison's) i also like blackmachines headstocks (which are similar to parkers),

I don't think there is any issue with what Siggery is doing. It's first worth noting that copying of guitar shapes has always existed and that the market for Siggery is not the same as BM or BRJ.

Siggery is making guitars for the people that can't afford a Bernie Rico Jr. or BM. His guitars are not of the same caliber because of that reduction. Different markets, they are not likely to tread on each other. He also never claimed the shape was his, sure he gave it a different name but far from claiming it's his.


IDK if it's people that are just upset to see lower price copies of their favorite guitar. Or if this is somehow in the same league as that company, Blackhart (or whatever it was.)

In the end, I an get a BM shape with out Doug's bullshit marketing mindgames.

you cant say that the guitar is lower caliber purely because of the price, everyone knows of products which are ridicuslously high priced but turn out to be shit, and everyone knows of products which have a low price but are actually good. The price which is set is purely determined by the luthier, whether the luthier charges 4k or 2k depends on what they feel is fair to charge

I don't think many people would actually argue that a Siggery is better than a BM or BRJ. That was my point, not that Siggery guitars are awful.

If I thought they were awful, I wouldn't have ordered one.

Hey man thats an awesome NGD for ya!! I've put the full payment down on one of these in black gloss with Blackouts!! It'll seem incredibly basic compared to this one but i just wanted a plain jane balls out metal machine!! And Martys heresy just sorta spoke to me, i can see similarities between both types of guitars but i don't think he's trying to imitate at all, SO happy NGD dude and enjoy that bad boy!
