NGDs: Jackson Custom Shop Soloist & King V

So I had the awesome chance to acquire these and decided to get them. How often do CS7s come up in the wild - very very very rarely. With the CS now taking 18+ months due to their backlog (unless your Bulbasaur) I figured I needed to get both.

The Soloist Archtop is a great guitar and the punchiest for metal I've ever owned. It's the standard alder+maple combo but man with the Blackout Neck in there it just sounds insane on the third channel of the MarkIV. It vibes really well with the Mark IV. The BO Neck is also a surprise as you can turn it down volume wise and get really nice clean tones or even have the signal clean up pretty well. On the clean channel it's a great clean.

The King V is normally not a shape I'd gravitate towards however this guitar was just calling me towards it. It's a 3pc mahogany neck and wings with ebony and was made for COW from Fear Factory. It sounds massive through the Mark and is surprisingly pretty awesome to play as well. I've tried RR models in the past and never found the shape to fit me. This KV shape has the forearm position on it very close to where soloists are and thus feels great. Not to mention the paint job is just a great Red Blue Pearl... just fantastic and very mid range heavy guitar.

Also, if you don't mind my asking, what settings do you run on your Mk IV? I just picked one up recently, and while I love the shit out of it, am still tweaking.

The silverburst was made for him but instead mistakenly shipped out to a dealer. At this time I believe he also started wanting Floyd Roses on his 7s so he just passed on it.

The KV7 was another dealer screw up in that it was made for him and then shipped out to DCGL or something like that. He couldn't pick them up in time from the CS so they were sold.

That Custom COW7 is one of the sickest guitars out there in my humble opinion. I'm not even a big silverburst fan but everything is top notch and it's simple which I love.

Didn't that model have the LED inlays though?
