NGD: H-1007 FR
I've been gasing for this LTD ever since I wanted tog et a 7-str. However I went for an Agile Spetor Elite instead because I wanted to give them a try after all I'd heard. But the LTD stayed ingraved in my mind, so after I got my Christmas "bonus" I went straight to Gearhounds who had a good Christmas special and ordered meself this beauty! I've got to say though I've got nothing but nice things to say about gearhounds. The shipping was quick, the packaging was perfect and the guitar came in set-up perfectly!
So here's the cliché story: ![]() Le me was having an average day at work, minding my own business of course. Going home le me was not expecting to have a huge box sitting in the living room. (AS IF! I've been waiting impatiently for this thing!)![]() OMG! WHEN DID I ORDER AN ESP?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? ![]() ![]() After quickly unboxing the case le me took this picture: ![]() Knowing his fellow SS.org members wouldn't be satisfied with a simple case picture le me opened up the case and revealed it's hidden treasure! ![]() Then le me suddenly shut up and posted the rest of the pictures! ![]() ![]() ![]() Disclaimer: I know Agiles are a hit and miss thing but my Agile is a definite HIT. However, this LTD Deluxe is nowhere near the Agile's league. It's high above anything I could have hoped for. Both have similar specs though: EMGs, neckthrough construction and mahogany wings. The body is a tad smaller then my Agile, add to this that it comes with a FR and the body ends up being so much lighter and more resonant. My Septor is equipped with 2x 707 and the LTD is set up with an 81-7 (B) and a 707 (N). However, on their common pickup (707 in the neck position) I end up having so much more clarity from the LTD. The heaviness of the Agile makes it sound thicker and bassier and the lighter LTD ended up more articulate. I was planning on changing the 707 for a 60-7 but I think I'll stick to it for now. Plus it has ridiculous sustain! I'm in love! The FR 1000 is actually damn great! It does not get in the way of my picking, although I do have to readjust my palm muting technique from the Hipshot bridge. The H-1007 came in perfectly set-up to my liking. As opposed to the agile that needed alot of tweeking before it came to my liking. The inlays are pearlescent rather then white, which was a good surprise. I was expecting bland white but got amazingly sexy pearl! The see-through black is actually see-through black and not see-through purple like you see alot of people getting. I was very happy with that! The flame looks amazing, althouh more subtle then my Godin's. ![]() This guitar I will recommend to ANYONE over Agile ANYDAY! |

I love that black flame. How much did she run you? How are the pickups? What amp are you using? What is "the matrix?"

The pick-ups are amazing! I love my new 81-7 and the 707 is alo clearer on the LTD then on my Agile. The Amp is a Fender Bluesdriver! Which BTW rox my sox! The matrix is... go to sleep Neo. |

Congrats. Really loving that new headstock !!
Kamikaze7 I for one value my guitars and gear like people value their kids - ....ing with my guitars or gear is equal to me molesting your kids - you just don't do it if you value your life... Whiskey_Funeral For that much money I'd just put myself through Luther School and build the damn thing myself. MaxOfMetal I just love guitars. It doesn't matter how many strings, frets, pickups, or wood used I just dig the .... out of them all. |

You can do a little modding to that guitar and it'll be the last guitar you'll ever need.
I wish i'd never got rid of my six string version of that ![]() Its one of the best guitars on the market in my opinion |

Sweet, how are the frets on those things? I know agile frets are really tiny, how do these compare with other guitars you've played?

They're XJ frets on both the LTD and the Agile. However, they seem taller on the LTD and so they feel more "responsive". I feel like I don't need to put as much effort into my playing as with the Agile. My Godin has by far the best feel but the LTD makes everything seem faster/lighter.

Congratz!!! I've never played an ESP/LTD that I didn't like haha.
I really wouldn't mind gettin one of these without the Floyd To the almighty one, unholy bearer of horns, empower me, flow through my veins, and carry me in war. To the unwavering, devoted to the dark, I drink these wines of majesty to you |

I was totally confused by the way you worded this until I read the rest of your post!
Congrats man, I actually had that model on my short list. In the end, I have to pass on Schecters and LTDs because I really am not a fan of gloss necks. But the specs are great for the price. I've played a handful of LTDs, and I've been consistently impressed by the quality of the hardware and the playability. |

I've heard today from someone who has had the H-1007 without the FR and says he tested one with a FR and had much less sustain in its sound. Maybe that one was a bad manufactured one? Or did you really meant ridiculous? I'm planing to buy this guitar very soon, as I wanted to get the new Ibanez S5427, but it seems it's not going to come to Europe... |
