Smile NGD: Custom 7 String Ibanez copy (56k warning?)

Hey guys, this is my first NGD and first seven string

I just got this guitar this morning from a user on this forum, Wi77iam, and it is amazing, needs some work though.

This neck is to die for, it feels just as good as it looks. It's made from Maple with a purpleheart stripe, and quilted maple fretboard, which is from ET Guitars. ET did such an epic job it's not funny.
The Ash body is from Patrick simms.... But was fixed and finished by ET guitars.

Wi77iam has a thread on the start of the body and the neck when he first got it: Custom RG7 in the works (ET guitar content)

Was also plekked before I got it this morning so it feels so good to play.

Only downside to this guitar is that the guitar has no back covers (easily fixed) and it has a buzzing sound when i take my hand away from the strings and volume nob ( I think it's just that it hasn't been earthed, easily fixed).

Haven't had time to dial in the amp settings for the Dimazio's so I cannot give a valid opinion on them.

EDIT: After spending some time with this guitar, I have noticed that the wiring has not been done properly as well as there being a twang after I strum the guitar. The unearthed buzz is realllyyyy starting to get to me now. As of this I cannot accurately determain what these pups really sound like. Since I would have been upgrading the pups in the future I though I may as well do it now while im taking half the guitar out. I will be replacing them with an aftermath bridge, and still not sure about the neck pup. I will be placing the bone nut because it is barely holding the the string (as you can see in one of the pictures), and since I am going up to a gauge 13-74 string set, this nut will definetly not hold the strings properly.
As for the ibanez logo, I am thinking of taking it off and replacing it with ET's logo, if that is possible.
I still can't get over this neck

Specs
-ash body with blue stain and tung oiled
-Maple neck and fretboard
-dimarzio blaze neck
-dimarzio d-sonic bridge
-sperzel tuners
-hipshot bridge with graphtech string saver saddles

Other than that this guitar is amazing, feels saweet to play and I LOVE the neck.

Now for the photos

Seeing that makes the wait for my ET conversion neck even harder!

Great choice to leave the headstock unfinished and the quilted maple fretboard looks amazing, too. You have a fine taste in guitars and ET's work looks impeccable.

Happy NGD!

I had a talk with Ernie recently.... I am having a hard time keeping my composure waiting on my neck.... and if the quilt looks anything like the quilt on your neck then I will certainly be in for a treat. DAT QUILT!!!

The rest of the guitar is rather tasty as well I might add. I like the color but the headstock logo doesn't fit somehow. either way that is one outstanding guitar. Happy NGD man!

Yes, that maple figure on the fretboard is freaking gorgeous. Makes me wonder why we don't see more quilt maple fretboards. Also, makes me want quilt maple fretboards... DAMN! DAMNIT ALL! STUPID GAS!

The guitar has this very cool faded look to it, as if you found it washed up on the beach. Very nice, sir

Nice fiddle!!! There is a good reason why we don't see a lot of quilt maple fretboards: quilted figuring is damn rare in Eastern Hard Maple!
Nope, maple isn't just maple - the nice flamed and quilted stuff you see on eg. PRS show-pieces is a lighter and softer species commonly refered to as Western Soft Maple (acer macrophyllum), wheras what you want to use for necks is a harder and heavier species commonly known as Eastern Hard Maple (acer sacchorum).
I wouldn't have opted for an Ibby logo either, but the guitar and the specs sure make for sweet reading!

Cheers

Super nice, so much awesomness I don't know where to start.
CONGRATS !!!

Kamikaze7 I for one value my guitars and gear like people value their kids - ....ing with my guitars or gear is equal to me molesting your kids - you just don't do it if you value your life...

Whiskey_Funeral For that much money I'd just put myself through Luther School and build the damn thing myself.

MaxOfMetal I just love guitars. It doesn't matter how many strings, frets, pickups, or wood used I just dig the .... out of them all.

I like it.
I think it looks better with the Ibanez logo on the Headstock, without it, it would look overly plain and silly.

This is definitely awesome.
