Agile Intrepid Pro 727, Strings?
I have a Agile Intrepid Pro 727 (7 string baritone). It came from the factory with 9-54's. I play in B standard but, the high strings are a little loose for my taste. I would like to put some 11-58 power slinky's on it. Should that be alright as long as the truss rod is adjusted? I shouldn't have any problem fitting a 58 through the tuning peg should I?
Thanks! |

You can got up to .60 with no problems, .58 for standart tuning should be about right.

Alright cool, thanks for the response's. @Dirgesong, Do you play in B standard? Did you have to adjust your truss rod or intonation?
I think the 11-58's will be good for me. The low 54 is not bad on it now, but i'd like more tension on the high strings especially. I use 13-62 on my 6 string baritone, and it's good. |

I've been using the Power Slinky 11-58's , but those are just a tad tight on the high strings for big bends, giving me a slight bit of pain in my fretting hand at times. I'm playing in B Standard. I think i'm gonna try the Dunlop heavy core 10-60's. A .60 will be alright on top for a low B right? I like it tighter for tremolo and alt picking riffs.

A 60 should be fine. An 80 will fit through the peg so no problems there.

I use an 11-70 set for anything from b standard to drop Ab and it works great. My action is still perfect with no truss rod adjustments, I do have to intonate though. I do tend to like a lot of tension, but I used to use 10-59 for b standard and it worked great with no setup whatsoever.
