NGD (kinda) Agile Interceptor Pro 727

It's been about two weeks since I actually received it, but I didn't have a working camera until now.

Specs!

Agile Interceptor Pro 727 MN Amber Q Burst DOT

Double cutaway light mahogany arch top body
27" scale 5 piece maple neck-thu body construction
USA Made EMG 707 Pickups
Maple fretboard with offset dot inlays.
24 Extra Jumbo 2.9mm frets and a 13.7" (350mm) radius neck for fast play
Grover Die Cast tuners
Floating Trem Licensed by Floyd Rose
Grover Die Cast tuners
Volume & tone controls
Reverse Headstock
Width of the neck at the nut: 1 7/8"; at the 22st fret: 2 3/16"
Uniform Neck Profile - For ultra fast playing - 21.5mm at the frest fret and 22mm at the 12th fret.
String Gauge: 009, 011, 016, 024, 032, 042 and 056. Setup tuned to B, E, A, D, G, B, E
Overall length, including the strap button: 41";
Actual Weight is only 9 lbs

Pics!

I absolutely love this guitar. This is my first 7-string, and I am not disappointed. Cosmetically, it is flawless! I've never been a fan of EMG's, but these really are tight and crisp, and I love the crunch I get with them!

I hadn't actively played guitar in over 13 years, and then I was only playing 6-strings. When I decided I was going to pick up the guitar again, I decided it was 7-strings or nothing. So, I sold my two 6-strings, took a chance and bought the Agile. I am extremely happy with it!

My next guitar may be the Devin Townsend signature 7-string, if and when it ever comes out. I've always wanted a V, and that one looks sweet!

I wonder if the one between ours is owned by someone on the forums? That would be pretty cool.

Another cool thing about this guitar is that when I took it out of the box and strummed it for the first time, it was perfectly in tune. I mean perfectly. I have had to make no adjustments to this guitar at all. The set-up was perfect for me. I used to use heavier-gauged strings years ago, but I'm liking the lighter-gauge right now, both sound-wise and feel. I'm tempted to go heavier, but am kind thinking "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." It sounds so damned good as it is.

Wow.. I'm really GASing for an Interceptor too. Just have to sell off a couple of guitars myself, and then I'll go for one.

Congrats on an awesome looking axe!

Thanks! I originally wanted to sell one of my guitars so I could get the Devin Townsend 7-string when it was released, but ended up selling both so I could get the Agile to tide me over until then.

Hey man, just ordered one of these myself!

Just wondering, how thick is the glossy finish on the back of the neck? Just wondering because if it's quite thick I might see about getting it sanded back to a satin finish

Very classy guitar! Sort of reminds me of Tosin's LACS Ibanez. Happy NGD!

I wouldn't quite call it thick, but then again for the last 20 years the only guitars I have owned have had oil-finished necks. It was a change for me, for sure.
