That is a freaking sick guitar. I need to get me one of those bodies, as that is the exact thing I was thinking. i love the RG shape and S body carving, so why not combine them? How much was the body, anyway?

Thanks. The finish came out exactly like I wanted it. Has a hint of red in daylight and more of a warm brown hue indoors

I'm not sure on this one but as far as I know early (or maybe all of) MIJ 7421s came with 7621 necks because ibanez made way too many of those. I dont know if there is such thing as 7421 neck, but this one is stamped 7-621

I can pm you the price if Elysian is cool with, or I can post here. Not sure about proper customer-luthier etiquette

I have a few things to celebrate tomorrow night, but if all falls through - I'll record a short video. Otherwise I'll do that over the weekend.

isnt it 7620 and 7420 have same neck while 7621 and 7421 have same neck?

620 and 420 need a shelf for the locking nut while the 421 and621 dont.

I'd also like to add to this discussion that they shared the same necks, but that the neck changed since the '00 line. I mean, before '00 there was no stripe and the neck was a bit fattier than the '00 version. I should know, since I own a '98 and a '00 7X20. So there, that's cleared up

Mate, really nice clips and really nice playing. I was afraid that Crunchlab would make the treble side of things overbearing and thin but it sounds really nice in the patch that you dialed up, very defined. What's your setup?

^ podfarm and nothing else. i think solo100 and spinal puppet amps

the first "song idea" is in drop C and has a bass track
second is in drop A, no bass.

my lead playing skills are on par with fred durst, so I didn't bother recording more than a few notes..

the only EQ is a tiny cut in lower frequencies around 100hz because it has a bit too much "OUMPH" when I play palm muted notes, and I dont like when woofer is moving too much air .

I know it's all a matter of personal preference, but which one would you say plays smoother? The pre '00 or the new one? If the finish different? I might be able to score one of the newer ones in mint condition... altho it's from 7621, not sure if necks for fixed bridge models have been updated after 2000 or not.

with that in mind... i really dont think need another guitar, regardless of what it is

for now this RG/S and ec-400 with actives is all i need.
Time to sell my H-307

Well, I like the pre '00 (stripeless) more...it has a slightly wider fretboard and is more a round D shape. With the striped (very flat C shaped) I tend to slip over the edge on the high E when playing on the higher frets.

I'm not shure about the fixed bridge models getting updated necks.
