7620 Refinish (56k pack a lunch)

So ive had this old RG7620BK since the beginning of time.. It's been through too many gigs and band practices. Needless to say, it's kinda beaten up and done its time. I think a refinish is in order.

Here she is. All busted up and nicked. Tone knob missing and everything. Notice the holes from where a crappy Jeannie pickguard (that was poorly cut, and didnt fit correctly) was.

So after years of sanding by palm sander and hand, we got it down to the woodness. Time to fill in those holes. Liquid wood owns you.

So we tape off the cavaties and soft sand everything nice and smooth like, and it ready to hang up. Taping took longer than i thought it was going to!

And it's prime time! By this time ive chosen to do a textured black finish. So a dark grey/black primer would be ideal.

After that, sanded the parts that need it and took the Textured Black to it and let er hang for about 36hours. Threw the hardware back on, cleaned up the neck/frets (bunch of boring stuff no one probably cares to see pics of) and it's a new guitar!

Just gotta stretch those strings and snip that excess and it's time!

Is that 'looks like stone' stuff? that looks amazing, dude.

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.

Feels like stone too! ;D Just smooth enough to where it doesnt pull on your t-shirts, but a little grittier than a matte job (with no grease marking problems).

That looks great mate, did you just use a spray can? What type of paint would you suggest just to use in a spray can, and can i just use normal white primer for a kinda dark green?
