NGD - Baux content
Baux
![]() Need some thing to cut it with...this looks promising ![]() I--wait, no--what? ![]() You know what, screw it. That tape doesn't look like it's on there all that tightly. ![]() There! Free from it's corrugated prison. Jackson, eh? Is it time for action? ![]() All together now! One ![]() Two, ![]() THREE ![]() ![]() A SLAT3-7, you say? Don't mind if I do! ![]() *Warning: poorly lit pictures ahead* ![]() ![]() Now getting serious for a moment, I've always that the gloss black SLAT was really...boring looking in pictures. Well, it's really boring looking in-person also. That's ok, though. It's boringness means that I don't have to feel guilty about "defacing" it. . . Like this: ![]() Ahhh, much better. I don't know why, but for some reason I thought that the arch would be...bigger ![]() Lurvs this neck ![]() LURVS!!!!!! ![]() ![]() So my impressions after one session of playing: PROS Easily the most comfortable neck I've ever played--beats any Ibanez I've ever tried. Everything. Feels. SOLID. CONS It sounds really...dark--which doesn't make any sense. I'm guessing my amp (BlackStar HT5 ministack) can't handle the output, I need to tweak more, or try a new battery. The neck pup isn't bad, tho. Come to think of it, I only tried it at a low volume , hmmm.9-52s? Really, Jackson? REALLY? B string is floppy as all ..... Putting some thicker strings on here. Not crazy about the painted neck, but that can be fixed ![]() Overall, I like it. The cons are minor, and I really can't overstate just how comfortable the neck on this damn thing is. |

Love the balisong joke.
![]() I agree with you on the painted necks, I don't know why you don't like them, but my palms get sweaty, and that makes painted necks feel sticky. Other than that, awesome guitar! |

This is one of the few Jacksons I actually like and would purchase. That and an SLSMG.

Nice looking Jackson, man (especially with the EMGs).
Yeah, I'm not a fan of lacquered necks either. They're just troublesome for people like me whose hands get sweaty while playing. I've always been a fan of unfinished necks. |

It seems that you don't care about the black finish, so strip that ....er and leave it natural!
