Seven String Acoustics

So I think I want a 7 string acoustic. I'm not really into the Dean or the Ibanez and the Abyss is $5k. What are the other options?

Unless you're looking to spend a lot, your options are pretty limited. Dean and Ibanez are the only inexpensive steel string acoustics that I know of.

There is Giannini for classicals.

I'm not looking to spend Abyss money, but I'm looking for something a step up from the Dean.

And I am looking for a steel string, not a classical.

There is always the $2500 range. I just found this one poking around Google.

Honestly, you're looking at cheap, or custom made. The market for these is totally non-existant.

Do you just want one to play around on, or do you actually need all seven strings for recording? I've done recordings with my Martin D-28 tuned in B standard, and it sounded sooooo amazing.

Jim Soloway was selling one of these a while back, but decided to keep it. I'd expect those to fall in the $2K-ish range.

Then again, you aren't too fond of CF guitars, IIRC...

Division - American metal that doesn't suck. Much. Even on MySpace, and Soundclick, too.

What about Emerald Guitars? They have various 7-string models. One of the members here has one, it sounded amazing. Here's a link to his demo.

Edit: Ha, beaten to it!
