Floyd rose wear question.

ok i have a 1989 Charvel Model 3, w/ a floyd rose trem.
it's one of these floyd roses that jackson/charvel made back then.
http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y17...gAnch=imgAnch4

my problem is that it will go flat when doing a divebomb and sharp when doing a pull up and it wont go back to tune. when it goes flat i have to pull up and sharp i have to divebomb.
i read on here today that someone had a problem were there floyd rose from 1989 was so old it was starting to go out of tune.
to fix my problem, should I:

a. buy a new floyd rose original
b. get new saddles maybe the graphtech ones.
or
c. idk if this work, but maybe take the saddles of and soak them in WD-40 or something like that, would that bring more life back into them?

i really want some kind of answer for c.

thanks,

nick.

PS: sorry for the bad photo.

get some PTFE lube for the knife edges. should help

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate.
We'll cross the streams.

nah, just put some on the top of the knife edges, and work the trem. i used a toothpick to get the stuff down in there. after having it in there for a while, you should start returning to zero (or closer, anyways).

Yes. That's the best way.
Leon's toothpick method is.....okay, but the only way to be 100% sure it's lubed correctly is to remove the trem, apply the lube, put the trem back in.

And removing the trem isn't that big of a deal, just take the springs out the back and lift the trem out.

hirah is just really nicehirah is just really nice
it sounds like a post/knife edge problem. if there was a problem with the saddles, it would slip and always go flat.
is the bridge setup correctly, parrallel to the body? that might help a bit. but it does sound like worn posts/knife edge.

well, i decided since i dont have the lube u guys recomended i would use WD-40 since it has teflon in it. so i put the spraying straw on the tip of it and sprayed
some on each knife edge. i let it dry and did it 3 or 4 more times. i works like a charm. the floyd rose always goes back to the neutral position. idk how long it will last though.
