New Addition to the Stable: RG7621

Well, it finally arrived today, the used RG7621 I bought last week! It's fairly beaten up cosmetically, but mechanically it's in really good shape. The only fretwear is on the first few frets, and it's pretty light. Don't you love it when you buy a guitar from someone who never seemed to venture above fret 5? I can't wait to clean and set it up when I get done with work tonight. And of course I can't wait to play it. I've really been digging fixed bridges lately.

The only things about it that bother me are the strap pins (see pic below; does anyone know what kind of strap pin that is?), and the huge knobs (see other pic). Does anyone have the stock black Prestige strap pins (the wide ones) or the stock black, set-screw knobs that they'd be willing to sell (or possibly trade for these)?

I had a chance to test out the stock Dimarzios and they sound pretty damn good! I can't wait to give them a real test once I get the thing set up and playable.

They look like the strap locks I have, although the brand of them escapes me at the moment, they're fairly common.

I think they're for the Schaller-type straplocks.

Nice guitar too!
I think a hardtail Ibanez 7 is next on my (very exstensive) wants list.

Same here. I was holding out for the white one, but they're apparently kind of rare.

Those do indeed look like Schaller strap lock pegs. Very nice socre you've got there. I'm starting to quite seriously consider getting a black RG7621 to replace my RG7321. I love the more contoured body on the 7621. The idea is I'll get it and swap out the picukups and knobs for the green Dimarzio stuff on the 7321.

As for white RG7621's, I have one with EMG's I'm still trying to offload. I think the problem is I'm in England, hence it's fucking expensive for anyone outside of Europe.

One thing I don't get is how Dimarzio switched the New7's pickup top from glossy to matte.
