I'm glad Bernie would never build such a guitar... Too close to a Mockingbird... Your design looks sort of like something that "Carlino" guy would do... Jackson Kelly here, Mockingbird there... ..In Carlino's case I think it's a mockingbird and Iceman mix... If you want a Mockingbird, buy a Mockingbird... Bernie is not raining on anyone's parade... It's his name that goes on these quality guitars... You can't expect to draw up some design, submit it, and expect Bernie to build whatever...

There's really nothing interesting. He'll either build it or he won't. I'll talk to him and see what he says. He's been willing to build designs like this in the past so I figured he would now. If not, no big deal

According to Nick at AxePalace (the dealer I am using), apparently Bernie and him were discussing the build, but Bernie was unaware of exactly what my shape looked like until he stumbled upon the thread. Ergo, the problem at hand.

I don't want a mockingbird, I don't even like the mockingbird shape. I see the similarities, but it was not on my mind when I first saw it.

Bernie has never been willing to build a BC Rich knock-off.. He built the Nemesis, which was a spin off of his OWN design...

Let's all calm down. There is enough drama already.

Although it was fun taking a shape that was originally created as a joke and modifying it to fit my tastes, I have no problem with Bernie not being able to build it... just as long as I get a refund (which Nick has assured me I will get in that case). So all should be well.

This has bevels though, so I would imagine it would be more comfortable. Plus points on guitars are usually dull due to body thickness and such.

I've been nothing but awesome to him and generated him a ton of business, both through my own orders and all the people who discovered BRJ's work from 5 years of me hyping him up on these forums when no one else did.

If Jr thinks Brian's design is too similar to a BC Rich shape, SO BE IT! Who cares? I already gave him a refund. If Bernie is not comfortable building this guitar, that's his right and I completely understand. There's no tension or animosity, it's a personal decision of his.
