NGD-Schecter LoomisFR (Epic Picstory)
After weeks of looking and looking for the perfect guitar, through tons of thinking and rethinking, choosing a guitar then deciding against it, I finally found the axe I was looking for.
I had originally purchased a 7620 and although I loved it, I could not pass up the opportunity to make the trade for the Loomis, as It has long been my dream guitar. All I have to say is wow wow wow wow. Right out the case it was perfectly set up and still in tune. After a few minor adjustments, off to the Valveking we went, and damn did we tear it up. The Loomis is by far the best sounding guitar I've ever heard as far and the heavies go. Although not the "best" lead tone's I've ever heard, it does rank in the top 3 for me. All that is purely subjective, though. After playing mostly Ibanez 6's and 7's in my 10 years of playing, I was skeptical as to how I would feel about the completely different feel of the guitar. A few hours of some solid jamming and I'm completely confident in saying the Schecter Loomis is the best playing guitar I've ever owned. Although the added string tension is a bit tough to get used to, the neck profile, the weight and fretwork make up for it in so many ways. After only a few hours, my finger tips were tore up, something I'm definitely not use to! Here she is: Oh, hello there ugly Fender box. ![]() ![]() Let's see what we can do about this nonsense. ![]() Take that! ![]() ![]() Looking promising.. ![]() What do you know, it IS a Schecter after all. ![]() ![]() Aha, that's more like it. ![]() Yes, the completely unnecessary countdown. Three... ![]() Two.. ![]() One. ![]() Wait for it.. ![]() ...wait for it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Can I now be apart of the elite Loomis Brotherhood?? Oh please, Oh please, Oh please.

'Grats, dude. I would LOVE to have a Loomis, as Prydogga said; it's one of the VERY few Schecters I like.

Congrats man. They are awesome guitars. Kinda glad I didn't trade you mine. I think I need to give the Loomis some play time so I can fall back in love with it. Just can't get into actives with all my BKP's. I think I need some pickup rings and a set of BKP for old Jeffy. Oh and yes of course you can be a part of the brotherhood. I wonder how many members that has now. I really lost track since I started it.

yes they are, but they were done super professionally. Looks like the guitar was made like that at Schecter. =]

You know I didn't notice it until he said something, but that guitar was definately routed. Does look clean though.

Um, would I get kicked outta the brotherhood if I sanded it to Natural?
Mine has some wicked grain and I was going to start sanding on Monday my day off... I love my Loomis but would kill for a lot of Wenge in the neck and an Ebony board with 12th only or no inlays. But it is a keeper for sure. Welcome. |

Niiiiice. So beautiful. Congrats.
I love my Loom but personally I wouldn't say it plays better than my UV...huge price difference though. Having said that, I should add I play it way more than the UV, especially for TOIGHT heavy rhythms it is far superior (EMGs + 26.5" = WIN). For the price it is one awesome guitar, ENJOY!!!! |

I traded an rg7620gn with a Crunchlab and liquifire, plus $45 on my end because I had no case for mine.

Glad to hear the setup was to your liking! It was kinda difficult to do with only a little bit of text telling me what to do! Rock on! When I was jamming on it in the chatroom, it did indeed feel great, neck is just wayyyyyy too thick for me.
