My new S-Series 7

This guitar arrived as I was leaving for my gig the other night. I was pulling out of my driveway and the FedEx truck pulled up at the same time. I liked it so much, I had it on stage with me for the gig as my backup guitar.

For the tech, I don't know for sure, but it feels like a mahogany body (which many S-Series guitars are made out of), the pickups are stock Ibanez with a 5-way switch, and the trem is the Ibanez Lo-TRS trem. I've always hated the TRS, but for some reason, the one on this guitar is suprisingly smooth. I could actually compare it to a real Lo-Pro, which for me is saying a lot (I own 2 other guitars w/ Lo-Pro's on them). The neck is thicker than the RG7620 neck, but not by much, and it's clearly much thinner and more playable than the ESP 7s I've played. The only technical flaw I have with it is a little buzzing on the low B string, but I'll fix that over the weekend tomorrow.

The finish is sparkle gun-metal gray, and absolutely compliments my Ibanez RG7620, which is in a metallic silver color. The only flaw in the finish is a small (about 4 mm) scratch just between the trem and the end of the guitar (you can kinda see it in the last pic), other than that, the finish is flawless.

The guitar also came with a form-fitting Ibanez case in mint condition. F'n badass case.

Oh, and it has that wonderful bubinga strip on the back of the neck that I love so much. So

For $530 on Ebay, you can't beat it!

Anyway, here's the pics:

Sweet!
The local store just got in a used one exactly like it today.
I was thinking about snagging it.

That's a sweet axe! I'm liking the finish, very . But how does it sound?

And doesn't the S-series come with the Zero Resistance Trems?

+1. Great looking 'guit. Will standard pickup rings fit on that, or is the top too arched to take them? (I've never been a big fan of the spaces, I grabbed some rings for my 7620 off of UJ as well)

Damnit, all of you bastards getting new axes lately (Especially you Scott, you fucker!) aren't helping my GAS at all.

Chock up another new guitar owner here. My ESP SC-607 was getting lonely this week, so I bought her an Ibanez RG7321 playmate.
