After a long talk about my next guitar...

So i was absolutely ecstatic when my mum said last night i could either buy a guitar with my £400 now or wait until april when the guitars from NAMM get opened to the public, and buy myself a Prestige 2010 Ibanez of any choice. So basically i'm just waiting on finding out what prestige models are coming out and choosing one. Right now money isn't so much a concern, so i'm entirely... Orgasmic about the whole idea of me getting one in only 3-4 months. ;D

They'll likely be out right after namm, and in some cases there will be some out even beforehand (One RGA7 already sold on ebay for 410, and there's some preorders on a certain UK website.. check the NAM 2010 thread page 76 iirc Sorry talking out of my ass, they're in this thread.).. Most dealers won't list them on the site until they actually have them in their warehouses. You SHOULD be able to get ahold of them through any Ibanez dealer right after NAMM, but beware, don't get jipped. You'll be quoted but I'd imagine with a middleman such as the guys at Guitarcenter (Does GC allow you to order directly from Ibanez anyways? I know with smaller dealers like this little shop by my house they can do this but I can't say about bigger names such as GC), they might try to overcharge you from the street price for their own benefit. Make sure you get a good street price and call them out on whatever info you can find.

So you're saying April may be the longest i'll be waiting until i get it? And when i was at a Dawsons music Store the other day the dude called up Ibanez in front of me and asked how much the RRP was of the RG7321 from NAMM, which i think was 399 or 390? Steep for an entry level 7 IMO. I hope they aren't too overpriced, ideally i was looking for one around £900 to £1000 and looking to get a real higher end Ibanez. I hope this isn't me just wishful thinking though.

The one that really caught my eye was the the RGA7 i think? It had flamed maple and was in Purple and black. If that's in my price range i want it right away. Anybody have any info on that?

I've heard Ibanez' UK prices are ridiculous. I don't understand why they charge the same amount in euros as they do in USD for the RG7321 (the RG7321 is 400USD here)

Unfortunately that model, as far as I know.. isn't going to be a production model.. for anyone besides japan at least But things can change possibly?

You might have to wait and see if Ikebe gets it, which in that case you'd have to order through them. There's a whole guide on how to somewhere in here.

Everything in England is so overpriced man, especially instruments it's so shitty.

As for the RGA7 that's a total downer right there. And i know if i were to ship from Japan i'd be looking at around £2000+ by seeing how nice it looks. In that case i may get the RGA8, or possibly an ESP. I hope Ibanez have more up there sleeves because i'm not a fan of that otherr Prestige 7

Yeah, go ESP LTD! Best value for money guitars on the market IMO. They used to be even better value for money 3/4 years ago too.

Also, if I was you I'd find out what your mum's maximum budget is. That way you know what you can afford and what's sensible to look at

What happened to Jeff? Funny how he dropped off the radar now that the entire Western world disagrees with his right wing bullshit.

Yeah man, she said she'll put the money now into the credit union so she doesn't touch it. And she said if i find a guitar she'll pay off the deposit then pay it off monthly/weekly until it's fully finished. So i could say, i'll be probably be able to go upto 900-1000

It's on the UK Ibanez site so I assume it will be available here in the UK.

The RGA427Z is available in the UK! And it's... wait that can't be right...

Ibanez RGA427z DSH (7-string, Devil's Shadow finish) | Dolphin Music

£2145? What the .... Ibanez? Your price hikes before were pretty bad but this is just ridiculous. It doesn't even have EMGs it has Ibanez pickups. What a ....ing ripoff...

Dolphin do like to bum me with their prices. But i have a feeling it's gonna be around £1700-£1800 for it anyway. And that's too much sadly :'(

Anybody have a clue what that new ESP horizon 7 costs?

You're aiming high with that dude, an ESP Horizon NT7 will cost you £1700 shipped to the UK minimum.

I'd look into the SC-607B if I was in your position:

ESP LTD SC-607B BLACK - U.K. International Cyberstore

....kk, i was just thinking that then Scar, and as much of a woman i'm going to sound. I was hoping for a guitar that's gonna look a bit more unique, like flamed maple and shit. Thinking now though, do they still do that sunburst tan kind've colour on the SC-607b's? Like Shannon's.

You mean the natural gloss ones? Virtually impossible to find in the UK dude. As for a 7 string under £1000 with a Flamed Maple cap... probably not gonna happen unless you find a freak steal on eBay.

Realistically the SC-607B is far more acheivable

Shitty D: Not too much of a biggie, i dig the SC-607b and with around £1000 to play with i doubt i'll be really limited in good guitars to play. I guess i'll just have to see what happens.

there's always the Schecter Hellraisers, and i suppose their new C-7 Custom that should be available soon, plus the '09 and pretty sure the '10 models all have coil-tapping pups (not 100% on the Custom series, but i THINK they will)

I'm gonna sound like a total noob, but what do Coil Tapped Pick-ups actually do? And how do they sound different/effect the tone?

Gives you the option of being able to use humbucker pups like single coil pups

Someone else could probably elaborate in more detail

I don't think it's nice, you laughing. You see, my mule don't like people laughing. Gets the crazy idea you're laughing at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it...

I've never used single coils before, i'm guessing the sound is more Thinner? All i know is Humbuckers give you that fat sound, so i'm just guessing what the opposite would sound like.
