![]() ![]() ![]() | A backup seven string for Jake A little (unnecessary, but it's my post dammit!) history here. My ex-girlfriend's brother's girlfriend's brother (phew) WAS a guitar player. For some reason he's giving it up to get into cars. But he's selling off his gear. Among the liquidation was a "black RG 7 string with no trem" of unknown model. After teaching my ex's brother how to distinguish the models, he called me and read me the numbers over the phone and it's a 2001 korean RG7321. He was willing to take 150 bucks for it! So I immediately was interested of course. The catch to this situation is that these people and the guitar are in Tucson, AZ, and I'm in NJ. I had my sister go give him cash for it today and she now has it. We are arranging shipping it right now. My immediate plans are to get at least the bridge pickup for it rather quickly. I'm gonna stick with the Blazes like my UV so I don't have to change any presets, and I know how it will sound. I'm gonna go with white pickups, because it's fate is to be stripped and painted white. I also will do the headstock white with a black decal. I MAY even do a white pickguard so it has a Universe style look to it, but I'm not sure yet. As long as it's white I'll be happy. That way I have that contrast; two seven string Ibanez, one black and fancy, one white and plain. I guess you can say I've joined the RG7321 masses. Or I joined the RG7 masses, which is much more encompassing ![]() So my first guitar purchase in over 7 years, AND I have a little project for myself now too. I'm pretty excited. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Yeah, all along I wanted a white seven string. The first one I ever played was a white 7621. I just happened to stumble across a UV777BK, so white wasn't an option. But I've still had the desire just the same. I apparently am not alone in the whole "White guitars look awesome" opinion, so it's cool that I have some backing on this. Also, the way my style is, it will definitely be weird playing a fixed bridge, but I'm looking forward to the advantages as well. It will be nice to be able to change tunings and such on the fly, and especially to not have to worry about breaking a string in a live situation. Having the option for either approach will be cool too. Good times ![]() |
