Just bought my first 7 string

It's an RG7321FM Blackberry Sunburst, only one in Liverpool. It's a christmas present and cost like £430?

Is this a good buy? I wanted to get a pre-owned COW7 for £450 but my mum was a bit weary since she's has no clue about the internetz. Sucky thing is, i didn't get to try it out, they only had 1 seven string in the warehouse and this was it so i had to buy it before it went and i was left with no christmas present. Feedback towards what you guys think of it would be nice ;D

isn't that a 7321FM?

and yes... I'd support that buy.

Kinda shitty thing is, i've still yet to buy me a gigging amp, i had a valveking but had to sell it for money reasons. Now i'm just left with my practice amp, eventually i'm hoping to get a 5150, but i think until i get that amount of money i'll probs be getting a flextone or a spider valve.

Its not a bad git for a first 7, that's certain. You may want to change the pickups out eventually as they don't sound the best, but they'll make due till you can afford it. As for an amp, check out the Bugera line of amps. They're basically Peavey clones but a bit cheaper, especially in your neck of the woods. They originally had some reliability issues but from what I've heard they'd all been sorted out. Hope this helps mang

Also, I think he recommended the Pod for headphone practice, or to hook it up straight to a mixer for gigs. This would be handy, but if you want a real amp, get a real amp. For home practice and recording I'd look into a Line-6 TonePort UX-1 or 2, they go really cheap used.

I'm assuming he's going to want to mass produce these rack pies, and why not? I love racks, I love pies, so put them together and you have pie covered titties. - JJ

I don't think what it's worth matters unless you plan on keeping it in mint condition and collecting it. Sounds to me like you wanna play this thing. You should throw either a Blaze set in there or an Evo7/Liquifire7...

I have Evo7/Blaze in a 7620 and then I have Blaze Bridge/Liquifire 7 in another axe. That sounds pretty good too.

You don't necessarily "need" to route for a battery, there should be enough space to just throw it in the control cavity. That's what most people do unless they have extra cash around to route for a battery box. To make sure it doesn't move around in the cavity, just roll it in a thin sheet of foam or something to keep it in place.

Ah sweet, you wouldn't mind pointing me in the right direction with this Bugera's would you? Looking for something that'll give me a really heavy distortion, playing death metal need something really heavy but something that can actually pick up each different note.

Well, if you're into the 5150/6505 tone, the 6260 would probably be right up your alley. They also have the 6262 which is basically a 5150II/6505+, and then the 333 is a Triple XXX and the 333XL is a JSX clone. Any one of those could probably handle death metal, but you should go out and try them yourself to see if you like them. Someone on the forums from around your area should be able to give you some suggestions on shops up there.

nice choice for a first 7, saves the hassl of floating a 7 trem as well! (i blocked mine!), and if people can fit batteries in S cvities, youll have no problem hiding it then there, or possibly in the rear spring cavity with the magic of velcro :p

I have the Ibanez catalogue in mine atm mate, and their is a maple top S series with the exact same paint job too, but the one i saw was a 6 string, not too sure if they'll do a 7 D:

U gotta love ignorant dumbasses

Congrats on the guitar. I would definitely suggest swapping the stock pups for blackouts. Ive heard blackouts in basswood bodies and i gotta say they sound sick . If i were u, id probably replace the tuners as well with some Gotoh's or sperzel's or something.

I wanna see the pic story when u get it

yeah, they only do black and white finishes on the 7-string S models as far as i know...plus that whole 22-frets, and i don't think they make any 27" guitars anymore...oh well, enough other companies seem to know what i want and can actually afford
