My experimental demo lol

well yeh i been fucking around with guitar effects, the tones of my effects and stuff. just seeing what cool shit i can punch out i guess. so i made this up, its only 2mins long. nothing crazy, just progresses, got all weird effects, starts quiet and makes its way louder n louder.

PS, don't ask about the timing. i don't even know how i managed to make the drums fit with this lol any feedback of the riffs and sounds would be cool! i am going for a dark heavy sound i guess with a bit of catch to it

http://www.myspace.com/korbainmusic (i need friends coz i just created it) haha

first off:
-drums -. I am going to be honest, but I'd have just not bothered. If anything to record, you should be playing along to the drum track, not placing it over it afterwards. Also, drum programming wise, most drummers WILL keep a count going at a steady pace (ride/hi hat etc) while the other limbs go off and do other stuff. But that count is usefull so that people like us can play along to it and can anticipate the next hit.

- guitar wise - it is only one riff as far as I can tell, as at the end it dissapears into mush really. Too many effects for my liking, as rythm tones should be stione cold dry in my opinion, as it makes them heavier.

The effects at the beginning are cool, and it does build some atmosphere, but I'd seriopusly redo it to a fixed drum beat and THEN go off and do weird drum stuff, or just leave the drums out, as they really do detract from the rest of the performance.

Dark and Cold is really cool though, well atmospheric, and definately intro material!

Anger Without Words needs ALOT more I think, I like the clean tone, it just needs a more steady drum beat and maybe some more guitar parts and bass parts, etc...cool though.

Dark And Cold is weird and eerie but makes a cool intro like James said.

thanks guys. this is just like, not a real song lol. its like a few riffs just all put together at once, but yeh i threw the drums on afterwards to sorta make it less boring lol. but yes, david there are more than 5 notes lol and it was about the effects and sound not how complicated it is. but yeh this ain't a song, these are just weird riffs i made that i want to add to songs lol. thanks for the feedback about my other material too. i made dark n cold for an intro. i will start trying to do drums first, then guitars. i never really did it that way lol but hey i'll try one song doing it that way n see if it works for me
