I've been working on an intro for one of my songs that has a sort of Little Wing (SRV/Hendrix) and Yellow Ledbetter (Pearl Jam) vibe to it. Anyway, do you guys know what kind of settings I need to dial up on my line 6 Spider II to get that crisp electric guitar sound?

My guitar is an RG1527 with a air norton 7 and a blaze custom.

I don't know about Pearl Jam, but I know Hendrix and SRV got their sound through single-coils, but I'm pretty sure it can be done on a humbucker guitar. From what I recall, Petrucci achieved a similar sound with his Ibanez guitars during the solo of "Lines in the Sand".

Anyway, I'm guessing that a tube amp would probably help to achieve this tone, too, but please help me get as close as I can with the tools I have at my disposal.

Position 4 on your 1527, neck and bridge single coils out of phase, will get yuou ballpark.

From there, it's a clean channel set for a bit of tubey breakup.

By that you mean with the pick-up selector switch in the position between the humbucker position and the center position?

Also, any specific sort of EQ settings, or just a normal setting with the lows/mids/highs all hovering around 12 o' clock?
