Bulb - New rough clip with vocals! (podx3, dfhs, petrucci 7)

Sup dudes,
This is a short groovy idea i have been working on (still very much a work in progress) and Tom Murphy (the bassist from my band Periphery) came over and laid down some rough vocal ideas.
When he comes over next time we will retrack everything and get some more ideas down and whatnot, and maybe someone will lend me a nice mic so i dont have to use the cheapo one im using now! (hinthintnudgenudge)

Even as a rough version, i thought it was cool, and since i dont know when he will be back here to track again, i will give you this in the meantime:

Alright, quit making excuses, you have a vocalist. He's good! Record the album!
Ditch the Pod tone, and mic your Invader, too.. the super digital guitar thing is cool for demos, but doesn't do a track with vocals justice.

damn... i almost dropped my snickers! the bit with clean vocals is way beautiful. but some autotune is detectable. lil' vocal training and he'll be top notch!

Im pretty sure everything Tesseract has ever recorded is still POD, apart from one test tune which might be an Engl or a Mesa.

Cool tune man! Some of the clean vocals sounded a little like Maynard, and the solo after the clean vocals was really cool.

yeah dude they are all pod as well and definitely have sick guitar tone

i dunno, its just personal taste, this isnt the best pod tone i have, but then again the song isnt mixed...
but regardless im sticking with the pod, because on recordings its closest to that tone in my head, which obviously is a tone that not everyone is going to like

The vocals sound really good!! I would just give him the mic and find a bassplayer. I totally dig his growlly/scream side. The singing was pretty good too. Not quite as big a range as Casey had, but it still fits really well.

Anywho, off the nerdy talk. Awesome song! I dig the pod tone, also it is probaly damn easy to record with too

Very cool stuff, it has a meshuggah flavor to it, but is not a meshclone.

I love Tesseract but they're sort of in the same vein as it is, but i think they're aiming for different things and need that individuality. Bulbs tone has much more attack, Acle has his more rolled off and a bit more rhythm orientated. I dont think bulb could get away with the riffs he plays if he had Acles tone, not to mention, as bulb's already stated, they use Pods too!

but bulby, i was e-stalking you earlier, and found a picture of your computer and whatnot and i noticed you have a toneport ux2. have you used the models on it at all? and if so how do they compare to the models on your podxt? i'm thinking about getting one so i can mic my amp but also record silently all pod-style.

Amazing stuff, t3h bulbasaur. Seriously your band is so fucking talented...you could just have Alex and Tom do all vocals and you'd be fine without a lead singer, as they are both awesome.

I listened to their other stuff and it does sound pod-ish, and Deadwing had some good pod action too, but their guitars sit comparatively far back in the mix so the harsh digital buzz isn't as apparent.

Doesn't Acle use a POD XT pro for a preamp through his Mesa? That's what I've gathered from various rig pics I've seen.

he uses the mesa for rhythm stuff, and the pod into the mesa effect in for leads and cleans, i believe.

also, i love the track, and your bassist does awesome svream stuff, and while his ideas are good, he´s not the best clean singer :P

he could do main scream vocals, or just backup scream vocals...

you all have to do backup vocals live!
